Doing an attic remodel. Rafters are 10:12 slope 2×6 @ 16″. Non-structural knee wall less than 5 ft high. What’s the best way to fasten the top of the knee wall to the rafters? Thinking about cutting the studs to match the roof slope and nailing the top plate to the rafters like a strongback. Or is it better to have a square-flat top plate, and rip a second plate at the required angle as a filler?
I’m sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.

I don't see where one method is "better", I usually cut the tops of the studs on that angle. Don't forget to compensate your top plate layout line for the angle.
I would use your first method it is a little easier.
