I am thinking of putting a cheap laminate floor down in our hunting camp. Cheapest I found is 88 cents/ sq ft. I am thinking laminate because it’s the cheapest thing I have found and easy install. My question is what do you guys think of putting just felt/roofing paper or the paper that is put under hardwood down(the name escapes me right now) instead of the foam underlayment. Remember the idea here is cheapest route. It won’t see a lot of foot traffic since it will probably only be used 40 days or so per year.
The the floor is currently 3/4″ OSB on 2×10’s. The structure is off the ground approx. 1 to 2 feet. The underside is insulated and covered with 7/16 OSB. Obviosuly has extreme temperature differences throughout the year since the only time the heat is on is when we are there and it’s needed.
Thanks

go with the felt...

WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
Forget the laminate, use a coat of garage floor epoxy paint.
