Looking to buy a laser level for mainly doing kitchen work. Was looking at a pls3 or pls5. Anyone using one these levels or any others I should consider. Thanks

What you want is a laser that shoots lines, not dots, when doing kitchen work.
The PLS2E is what we use, but that may have been obsoleted by their new 180 model. If the 180 in fact did obsolete the 2E, you might be able to get a 2E at a great price on a close-out.
There are competing products from many others, such as David White, Stabila (I think), and more.
The combination of LaserJamb (source: FastCap) and PLS2E cannot be beat. One setup, check around with a tape to find the floor's high point, the ceiling's low point, then make some decisions, and re-set to some elevations for laying out marks and snapping lines.

Use it to plumb anything tall that needs it, and to re-check yourself just before fixing to walls with screws.

If you are going to use it a fair amount then get the PLS 180. If not then get the 2E, but it probably wont be discounted for a little while. Also consider the detector if you ever do any outside work.

BTW this was the best price for the 180 that I found so far.

I have a PLS2, and that works great. As others have said, there are several brands that make the cross hair lasers. David white, Stabila (nice but more money than the equivalent PLS), and stanley makes one just like the PLS2 that is $100. I checked pls's website and they don't list the PLS2E anymore, so I guess it was replaced by the 180. I got my PLS2 as a closeout from amazon for $150. These guys have good prices on most things (good service too) and have several of the pls lasers. http://www.coastaltool.com/
