This is the final result of the second story
Now last year just befor the holidays the new owners asked me to install the hard wood floor in the new addition. The pic is taken from were the new bath will be"No doubt exists that all women are crazy; it's only a question of degree." - W.C. Fields
And this last 5 weeks I did the bathroom in that space. The last pic is to show the tile pattern chosen on the floor."No doubt exists that all women are crazy; it's only a question of degree." - W.C. Fields
Super work; cool house.
I think I'll copy the tile pattern on a great room project I've got coming up!

Nice work. You did a graet job on the radius at the tub. I bet it was fun to workon the house you grew up in. The pic in the snow looks like a Christmas card.Chuck Slive, work, build, ...better with wood
Thanks for posting all that, Jet! Great work!
Doode, and here I thought you were just another pretty face<G>That vanity system is sweet, too.Did you get any help out of your boys?...haVery, very nice work. "I am the master of low expectations." Georgie Boy, aboard Air Force One, June 4, 2003
I bet they all wore their utilikilts.
Just saw this thread - nice work!
would you tell me please a bit more about the hardwood flooring product you used there?
from that last picture looking out from the bath, it appears to have a bevelled edge on the planks so I'm wondering if it was an engineered HW flooring product? (what brand, etc please?)DUM SPIRO SPERO: "While I breathe I hope"
The bevelled edge is very small. As for engineered? I really don't think so. The H.O. chose it. It is a full 3/4 inch thick random length. The type I found out is 3rd grade maple. In other words "the crap" that the rich don't want.
As the years go by the white areas get yellow so the color becomes more uniform. Still alot of character in it."No doubt exists that all women are crazy; it's only a question of degree." - W.C. Fields
Thanks.
I guess I've not seen much "full HW flooring" (versus engineered) installed and finished that had a bevelled edge at all...and so I was wondering.
Happy (american) Thanksgiving to y'all up there!DUM SPIRO SPERO: "While I breathe I hope"
Just out of curiosity, how high is the vanity? DW wants one of those bowl-type basins in the master bath and I don't have a clue as to the proper height.
I won't show her your pictures, she may get grander ideas LOL
The bowl ends up at the standard height for a counter top. As for the exact measurement I'd have to go measure it again.
And stop being a wuss and show her the pics. Come on you know you waaaannnna!!!!!!"No doubt exists that all women are crazy; it's only a question of degree." - W.C. Fields
Thanks, we have a 100+ yr old house, don't want to 'modernize' it too much. DW saw a cute little faucet in Lowe's that looks like a little pitcher pump ($180.00) and now we need a new vanity et al.
I was considering a cabinet that looks like a dry sink - with a dropped section to accomodate the washbasin. I'll post pics when I get it done. Just needed an estimate on the height of the basin.
OK wise guy, I showed her your pictures, now I have a second bathroom remodel job on the list. . . . as soon as I get this cast off my hand :-(
Yeah but did she see the pattern on the floor????
You could also put the tiles on the bias (45) so the out of square walls don't show as bad.

Learning how to tile a floor is on my honeydo list. :-(
Good luck"No doubt exists that all women are crazy; it's only a question of degree." - W.C. Fields
