I was always paranoid about using a lazer tape measure until I scored Bosch’s DLR15K.
I think it’s even more accurate than using a regular tape measure. Don’t get me wrong..I still use my ruler but in a lot of incidences the laser sure come in handy. I now have it full time in my tool belt.
Today I had a lot of floor to ceiling measurement to do…gawd that thing rocks!!
Just sayin’….

Here's your link. Evidently you have a problem...........

Andy,
look up top of your post. Isn't there some kind of EDIT up there? Doesn't look like a reply EDIT
thanks Cal..yep
My links rarely work even when I use the CTRL+V keys or copy'n paste...
anyway...I LOVE my lazer ruler : ))
...
but, once you reply to a post................at least us guys
you can't edit a post once it's been replied to.
Go fiigger.
I don't get it -- why do you want to measure rocks?
Cuz maybe I'm stoned? lol
Just bought the DLR130K last night at HD. Thought I would try the $99 one first. Found it online for $67. HD met the price and beat it by 10% and then gave me my buddy's 10% military discount..... $54 out the door.
Got home and just started measuring. LOL!! I love it so far. Seems to be dead on with all the measurements as well.
I understand now
.......was trying to figure out why one would need to measure a rock.
Yep, that little gizmo is pretty neat, use mine quite a bit for crown, base and pretty much anything else beyond the unsupported reach of my tapes.
>>..was trying to figure out why one would need to measure a rock<<
I already answered that question to DanH in another post up above.
BTW..the more I use the device the less I fnd myself using the tape measure.
It's so much easier and more accurate than a tape in so may instances.
I wonder how many here still carry a measuring stick (folding rule). I have one tucked into my bag mostly just to confound the young 'uns, but I do find it useful on a few occasions.
dan, got a stick rule and use it.
Not as much as might be used, but for inside measuring I go to it alot. Have both an 8' and 6.
Use the slide out for depth gauge even more often.
Yeah, I'd like to have one with the slide-out gauge, but I'm to cheap to spend the $$, even if I could find one.
But speaking of slides, does anyone remember the old sliding rules -- like the folding type only the sections slid on each other vs hinging. Used to see them occasionally as a kid, but haven't seen one in probably 45 years. IIRC, the big advantage to them is that they could be easily used to take inside measurements.
One problem with them back then was that someone who wasn't aware they were the sliding type would pick one up and try to fold it -- an expensive mistake.
I use my wooden ruler alot. I have one in each of my carp tool boxes...although since I started using my laser I don't use the woody that much lately....
OK..that last comment seems to be open for jokes : )
It happens to all of us as we get older. Just can't get that tape measure to stand out as far as it used to without doubling over.
Fat Max to the rescue son...makes the inches keep.....uh...I better chill huh?
