I do ‘fixer-uppers’. Our latest was built in the mid- 1970’s. The bathtub in the second bath leaks around the drain. The drain is stuck & I cannot get it out, despite many efforts. The house is built on a slab, so I cannot access the drain from below. I would rather just replace the drain & have the tub refinished, rather than install a new tub, but need to get it done sooner than later. Any ideas?

you can stick the handle end of a pair of pliars in the flange and then turn the head of the pliars to remove it. however I recomend you just invest $12 in a flange wrench. When the flange is broken at the bottem,I have carefully broken it out with a sawzall & chisel.carefull of the threads.
