Looking at Delta Unisaws. Does anyone know the advantages of a right tilt to a left tilt table saw? I have always used a left tilt. Tear-out is on the inside of a 45 rip.

no advantage really. But youve hit the nail on the head with the inside is the tear out while the right tilt tearout is on the outside if the miter. The one you see.
if youre used to left tilt, buy a left tilt.

left tilt has less binding of cut piece and fence. Therefore, there is less risk of kickback.

A left tilt does have less risk of kickback for your most common angled rip setups. I have a right tilt unisaw myself. With the unifence it's easy to move the fence to the left of the blade for rips with the bade tilted away from the blade, but you are limited in the width of rip. If you're already used to a left tilt saw, I'd say stick with it.

Try http://www.oldwwmachines.com for vastly more info on Unisaws and left/right tilt. I do know that the original Unisaw from 1939 was right tilt, they offered left later on. Mine's circa 1939 - 41, right tilt.
