I’m thinking of purchasing one of those Leigh FMT jigs for some interior doors I’m going to be building for a remodel I’m currently on. Looking at the literature and website I’m getting that the maximum size stock that you can fit in the jig for tenoning is 5.5″. Of course, 5.5″ isn’t enough for the bottom rail on the doors and I’m wondering why you can’t just clamp one side of the stock, (letting the long side run wild), do the tenoning, flip the piece around and then cut another tenon, thereby creating a double tenon using larger stock. Seems like if the centering mechanism only requires and accurate point this ought to be doable. Anyone out there having experience with this jig that knows what I may or may not be missing here?
Thanks, Tom
