I want to provide my client with operating cost comparisons for heating his new home with oil-fired and propane-fired boilers for a staple-up hydronic floor heating system.
I have this from my state energy code worksheet: 8255 heating degree days.
I can get todays costs for fuel. I’ve not bought either, so I presume oil is priced per gallon, and LP by the pound.
If you know how to run the numbers, tell us what we need from the equipment specs, and how to arrive at cost for a season of heat, for each fuel type.

BIG MINEFIELD.
What I do is tell the customer that X fuel is so much higher than Y so that on any given day, you will save this much as a %. Quoting numbers tends to come back and bite you.
lp is actually gallons on delivery...........not the same as filling the bbq tank.
I would think that a good contractor or a jobber would have the info you need, or a local promotional authority fot the type of fuel........
