I’m in the process of building a shower for myself in the shop(finally) and I want a shower head that will paste me to the back wall. One that instead of saying”2.5 gal/min” says “how much you got?”
I’m not in some water conservation area, well goes way down, have a pressure switch set at 45/65. I’m open to a handmade one(it’s the shop afterall)
Give me names, numbers and places to purchase…tired of the wimpy showers, want to blow the soap out of my hair, maybe take some hair with it.

You know how the water just kind of pours out of a garden hose? But then remember the way you could get a real strong stream by putting one of those old straight brass hose ends on? I wonder if you could somehow mate one of those up with a nipple. I guess the main thing is to make the orifice smaller than the supply line to increase pressure.
*A lot of faucets and shower heads have flow restrictors inside that are nothing more than a washer with a hole in it. Remove it, and you get lots more water.
*Jim, we're thinking along the same lines. I remember a few years back a FHB that had some door handles made from finishing trowels, and faucets from plain old valves and such. I think some ingenious thing hand made from ordinary components. Trying to get soem ideas to put it together. I wonder if I took one of those brass hose valves and drilled a seris of holes around it. I could have the main "knock down" stream, and a shower of gentler streams.
*i one of those old straight brass hose endsi mate one of those up with a nippleI believe Madonna has already done that. Sent lots of young men looking for a cold shower, too.
*Speakman shower heads. They get used in the upper floors of the finest hotels. All my upper end clients ask for them. You take out the restrictor rreal easy and grag hold of the grab bar.
*Piffin....where, and how much...less how much and more where.
*Here's the link - http://www.speakmancompany.com/products.htmIn addition to removing the flow restrictor, run 3/4" lines to the shower valve vice the standard 1/2" and you'll pick up a few psi depending on the total equivalent length of the runs.Warn other household members before launching this rock blaster.Happy Holidays to All
*Keith... e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll send you one. All it will cost you is the shipping. I'll send you details via e-mail. I only have one of these so no one else ask please.
*How about multiple shower heads? (If the Wet Head Warrior's shower head doesn't work)
*Sounds like you should hook up an inline pressure washer.
*Keith,I also appreciate the power of a quality shower and agree that the Speakman is an excellent choice. (I have 2) The real problem will still be your pressure with the well. The 45/65 thing doesn't really cut it for those that have known excellent city pressure. I grew up in a house with 85 psi and often stayed with my father in law who had 120 psi and there is no well pump that generates this kind of eye popping power. You end up with maybe 45 psi constant and I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for. Unfortunately, the only way to get around this is with a storage tank and a secondary pump. Give the Speakman head a try and see what happens.
*I could plumb in a secondary storage tank and pump if someone could give me a schematic of how it should be done. Right now, submersible pumps it up to a well-x bladder tank, where the pressure switch is located, where should it go from there?
*Great Moments in plumbing history; January 21, 1969 - Richard M. Nixon takes first shower in White House. January 22, 1969 - White House plumber reduces pressure to Presidential shower. Seems LBJ had for six years been upgrading the flow in search of the perfect "Texas" shower.
*Modified Speakman. I also use it on weekends to pressure wash the sidewalk.
*Do you have a fire hydrant close by?
*Drive around the city looking for smoke , there should be a couple of those red trucks there they have the nozzle on the running board that you want . It has anice chrome finnish and a handle to vary the flow. then build a 50' tower put a 100 gallon tank up there and a 3" pipe down to your new "shower head" Turn it on and then pick your a$$ up ff the shower floor.
*I don't know about the flow, but if you want to go first cabin, you might check the shower heads at the following site. I would guess that they might put you just a little over budget however...http://shop.toohome.com/index.asp?nProduct=19389&Track=Trackhttp://shop.toohome.com/index.asp?nCat=681&ListingPage=1And a couple of more at a bit lower price:http://www.plumbingsupply.com/heads.htmlhttp://www.biis.com/sh/
*how do i install a preasure pump if my tank is in garage and hot water heater is in house texican
