The floor in my new bathroom is not level (about 3/8″ low toward tub drain)and I don’t want the tub to follow this condition (the installation instructions state the tub must be level). What is the proper way to correct this situation? Is there some type of self-leveling compound that is suited for this?
Thanks for any good advice.

there are pourable self-leveling compounds available. follow instructions. some require bonding agent first. check with a tile supplier for these.
*Phil,Seems like much ado about nothing. Level the tub with a wood strip (assuming that the floor is level along the lenght of the tub) and silicone the gap.If the floor is not level along the lenght of the tub, then use shims and silicone the gap.Having water ponding towards the tub is preferable to having it flow towards the doorway.Gabe
*Phil,Depends on what your tub is made of. A fiberglas/acrylic tub can be set in a bed of plaster of paris while it is wet and leveled nicely. It also gives the tub bottom greater support. If the tub is stamped steel or cast iron, there are floor leveling compounds that can be used.Cliff.
