over the basement kitchen sink …
the owner had an idea … I came up with a plan …
all we’re waiting for now is the under cab light rail moulding …
and the extra crown … so we can wrap this puppy up.
I never skinned the area above the sink before … guess ’cause there’s usually a window up there … I think he had a great idea.
He had the display box and glass figures already … the lights were extra under cab’s … the skin was extra scrap from the island … had to order more prefinished lath strips …
boxed it out to the right depth … the display box is friction fit … tight to the framing .. tight in the hole cut thru the skin … slides out completely for full access to wiring and bulbs …

Cool!
The next one you do, talk them into a flatscreen plasma TV and they can run a looped scene of the seashore, waves rolling in. Washing the beer glasses downstairs, it's just like being down at the shore, at the old beach house.

Or, just get a cctv over the other kitchen sink (or the nicest view), and see the scenery live, fro mthe basement . . . Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
Hey, I liked the first Pix best, then the window got smaller with little doggie thingys? Wait till 40 with DW, then you'll be so conditioned you wont even think of the first pix!.
Very nice Jeff. Still working on the basement?
Looks like 2x4 framing... minus 1 5/16 for the lights... so the light box itself is about 2 1/4 deep?
I see a nice granite counter and back splash, what kind of flooring?
I've officially worked my way into the back room of the basement ...
installing 500+ ft sq of tile ... now into the "extra's" portion of the job ....
I have few jobs that I have to job on .. but I'm sure I'll be back and forth at this place for some time still to come ... there's a "list" of small stuff they want done "upstairs" ... and I haven't seen the list yet ...
I'd love to have had all the materials to get that light box area done ... but his kitchen designer has been ... shall we say ... a bit lax ... in quickly ordering all the right materials in the correct amounts ....
The floor is a floating .. edge glued ... engineered floor from BR-111 .... Adomimun? something like that ... I don't have a real good floor pic ... covered it all up right after we laid it ... now it's all covered with furniture and rugs.
