Theere have been a couple of questions here in the past about lighting glass block, like in a shower wall, and if I remmeber correctly the consensus was that it couldn’t be done because the mortar would block the light from jumping betweeen blocks. Found a solution by accident.
outwater.com/swtrack is a plastic spacer designed to go between blocks, taking the place of the plastic spacer that is sold for the normal installation. This outwater spacer has two channels cast into the spacer, and a 3/8″ rope light fits into the channel. I thinik the rope light is rated at 20,000 hours whic works out to 10 years at 5 hrs/day every day of the year.
Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell’em “Certainly, I can!” Then get busy and find out how to do it. T. Roosevelt
