When the HVAC turns on the lights in the house momentarily flicker. LED lights that were supposed to last years burn out in about six months.
The house was built in 1996. HVAC is about 2 years old. Circuit breaker panel was replaced shortly after the house was purchased.
Any ideas on the cause? Repair?

Probably a utility issue. Call them. If it's a new issue even though the HVAC is two years old the load on the utility's overhead (often called 'pole mount') transformer has gradually grown to where your HVAC is now a bigger jump into the full load rating of the transformer. There are engineering terms and utility jargon for 'flicker' and 'dip' and 'sag' of the voltage.
-Unless you know how to shut off and check safely get an electrician to check main service connections are good.
-The LED lights are probably a different issue. The cheapest ones have such minimal design margins (voltage rating of capacitors and semi-conductors, switching frequency thermal rating) that as they age and wander in value the circuit gets zapped.

Thanks Mike....very helpful.
