Was trying to find a link here from the archieves in “search” for discussions on sidewinder circular right side of the country saws but to no avail.
I know there were many discussions here on the subject but I can’t seem to find a “recent” one.
HAs it been that long? Time must be really flying?
I need me a sidewinder. Sick of using my worm drive for “everything”!
Be a right coaster
Namaste and thanks

Andrew,
Get the Milwaukee clic-loc sidewinder.
I got one for X-mas and love it.
I also have a 20 year old milwaukee and a beater milwaukee some one gave me.
Both run great.
I still think PC has sold out to Fischer Price.
Actually if you want to do some research find out which brands still use all ball or needle bearings instead of bushings.
This is the first place quality is usually sacraficed in the name of cost.
Except maybe plastic housings that usedto be metal.
I would also see if Metabo makes a circ. saw, they make nice tools.

Do not try this at home!

Hey now, I do not use Fischer Price saws, funny I just posted to Andy in a different thread to look at PC, I have the 6" and the 7 1/4" but by porter cable, I love both, anyway....
Both are 100% ball and needle. The 6" sawboss has got some guts for a little saw too...Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark, Professional build the Titanic.

You mean the one where that has the adjustable handle?

Come on Andy!!! Ya go left when ya oughta go right and right when ya oughta go left!!
Stick with the worm......you already know how good it is. I`m rarely an "I told ya so" guy.....but you start bitchin` bout the sidewinder after you buy it, and you`re gonna hear from me! You think Im harsh in the political threads? Don`t get me goin` on tool preferences!

Didn't say I was givin up my wormer....just hate using it for "everything".
Its why we use different hammers for different jobs.
Used the wormer yesterday cutting out a shingle wall above my head. SUXED! Sure woulda liked something a bit lighter.
must BE getting old

While I really like my Milwaukee worm drive, I agree that it's too heavy for overhead use.
A couple of years ago, I stumbled onto a 6.5" saw at a garage sale for $10. Couldn't pass it up. It weighs about 4 pounds and my worm drive is about 15. Can't bring myself to mention the brand name here...........(-:
Actually, I was gonna give it to my youngest Son to cut his teeth on. But I like it so much I kept it. It's great for small jobs where I don't want to bring out the big sucker. And overhead work, like you mentioned.
After I bought it, I got to thinking - Why are most saws 7 1/4" ??? The 6.5" is plenty big enough for most things.
BTW - Here's a tag line for you, what with your Winnie the Pooh fetish and all:"Lots of people talk to animals," said Pooh. "But...Not very many listen"

Now that I think about it, you're right.
Heck, you can expect me to be this good looking AND brilliant. The nicest thing about the promise of Spring is that sooner or later she'll have to keep it.

can I also expect you might have left a ( 't ) off that last one, man you must be one hot stud lmao......
sorry it's to easy and to early for me to be nice today

Boss,
Pooh fetish? I may some fetishes but Pooh isnt one of em.
To all: Whatdya think of this sucka for a $100 bucks in a metal case brand new?

Probably heavier then my wormer but looks awefully enticing doesn't it?
The guy selling it lives right near me too so no shipping costs.
Be heavy....grunt.

Brand new?
what was it in a time capsule for last 40 years?
what is it with you guys and your heavy asz saws, I have a worm, it sits unless I'm cutting ply, and only then because I can guide it better
if you think sidewinders aren't power enough you either have the wrong saw or you're compensating for a lack somewhere else...... :)

One of my favorite saws I ever owned was a B&D. The best blade height adjustment of any saw I ever used.

PS...by the way are most of the tag liners you use from my man Steven Write?

Heck, I got so many tag lines I don't know where they all came from. I get them from memory, magazines, on the 'net, and have even stolen a few right here on breaktime.
I have about 1,600 lines at the moment. Here's one you may not have heard:Half the work that is done in this world is to make things appear what they are not. [Elias Root Beadle]

Nonsense....a 24 oz. waffle head will sink a four penny finish nail just as well as any other hammer on the market! ; )J. D. Reynolds

Auto counter sinking too.
Porter cable 314 worm drive. Great saw! Blades suck though, they're expensive for a 4½" blade, but its a dandy saw.
Yes, Ive used one in the past....always said Id pick one up for plywood....haven`t yet. I`m not sure how many times Id pull it our being as the Mag is already there.J. D. Reynolds

And that geezer saw, is it dbl insulated? Be shoked in the rain.
QT....Good point but I kinda fell in love with it just for the novelty of it. I contacted the guy and he said he'd even deliever it for free. Still checkin Ebay and if he hasnt sold it, then I'll see if he'll take seventyfive bucks delievered (cash).
Probably means I'll still need to buy a sidewinder as that ol' geezer as you put it probably weighs more then my wormer.
Be shocked is right

I'd buy it in a second, that is a cool saw.
Now if you wanna buy one that will work for ya, email me, I am sick of the PC/worm conversations. I know just what you want, you need to decide left or right.
