Gang,
I have an area of my kitchen that gets big sunlight year ’round.
The sun (I assume) have cooked this near the sliding glass door and has turn it literally *black*, cracking it at the edges as well.
What can I do to prevent this when I lay the new vinyl flooring.
Some ideas:
Use good quality flooring
Seal under sliding door to prevent water leaks
Use a UV blocker on the glass door to minimize sun exposure.
Any help is appreciated!
thanks,
–Nick

Linoleum and vinyl are different materials. Even though the linoleum was affected by the sun, vinyl may not be. The manufacturer of the vinyl you are considering should be able to tell you how much you need to protect it from sunlight.
It would not surprise me if most of the better vinyls were entirely satisfactory for use in sunny locations.
