If you were going to build a small four season cabin. In the woods in PA. maybe 1000 sq feet all on one level, as cheaply as possible and yet as sound and maintainence free as possible. And the Bank required you to have a permanent foundation. What would you build.
I considered, A pole barn, slab, board and batton.
Apparently that is not considered pemanent. Any idea’s?
Also anyone ever built on piers? Is that permanent?

Edgar -- You want to know what the bank thinks is permanent? Ask the bank.
Yeah good one! They don't even know. It all depends whether you have enough money to build it without them. LOL They wouldn't give me a definitive , on that. Sonotubes ( concrete piers) - done all the time up here (Alaska) for cabins. Personally I think it's not worth the hassle of trying to keep your pipes from freezing but there are ways to do it.
