Anybody have anything , good , bad or otherwise to say about these windows?
I have to say……………..I’ve been doing a fireplace in a new addition that has these windows, and I like them. They look good and seem to be well built, but I just don’t know enough about windows to know what I’m seeing.
Interested because next year is window replacement time at my house.
Thanks in advance.

I installed some Lowen windows on a house that faced the Pacific ocean. They were pretty heavy. metal clad, triple glaze( I think) and vg fir on the inside, unstained. They were flanged so it was really easy to install. I am sure that the windows are really great and had nice hardware on them.
We've been using Loewen windows. The last batch of about 22 units was fine, no damage, nothing that didn't work, went in easily and operated easily, very consistent dimensions, etc. They were clad/wood and yeah they are heavy. We have another batch of about 10 units to install on a remodel in a few weeks and I'm expecting the same. I've installed a massive Loewen slider and it was so heavy that I wondered if I should hire a boom truck to move it to the opening. Instead I built a 'road' out of 2x12s laid on the grass and we wheeled it over on dollies. Nice stuff. Usually takes about 8 weeks to get to me.
We used Loewen on a project in Napa last year, year before. We didn't have a great experience. THe windows looked great, but the double hungs wouldn't stay up, were fairly hard to latch, and we had a tough time with the rep. A French door locked the family out of the house at least twice in the first 6 months because it had seized up. I went in and took it apart, lubed it (it said to lube every year or two...not within the first 3 months) and that only bought it a matter of 2-3 weeks before it locked up again. We haven't used them since. Our tile guy installed some in his house though, and I think he likes them.
Young, poor, and eager to learn
Thanks for your feedback..........I've got plenty of time to find the right windows, and I did do a search for earlier discussions, so I've learned a bit. Thanks again Rod
