Logos

AJinNZ | Posted in Business on March 22, 2005 03:39am

Been thinking lately about getting a logo.  Seems to me an instantly recognisable mark on everything will help business.

Problem is, I am having trouble finding or coming up with one that looks the part.

Anyone use one and could post a pic? Just needing ideas……..

Everything, 100% of it, depends on how you look at it.

Great topic...I just went through the process myself.

You can view mine at http://proofyourdesign.com/advanced

We're happy with ours. It might not be perfect but we like it.

      Blue,

I dont know what perfect might be anyway. If your happy with it then it is.

      Looks good.

      Sphere,

I was thinking I hadnt seen yours, but then when I did, I realised I had seen yours before.

In the spirit of things I would show you mine, but I dont have one.......yet.

When I do, I expect it to be big. :-)

      John,

My business is call Southern Carpenters. I thought about using the S and C but I know someone else is doing that here. Then I thought about a ''mark'' of some sort with the name under it. Kinda like Nike does. Havent seen anything I like in that dept yet. Still looking.

      AJinNZ  ,

When I was a finish carpenter I did not have a logo per se. But I just used my name and below it listed finish carpenter, stair builder. I didn't really need one since I was pretty much booked full time.

However when I switched to building furniture I had this logo made up which resembles the sign I am carving to put up on the shop. The sign will be black with gold leaf lettering. I used an online company to help with the design.

I dont' think you're going to get a lot of calls with that logo... at least not with the PA address/phone#  ;)

I dont have a logo per'se, I do have a clear, easy to read font that is consistent on everything that its printed on, bus. cards, yard signs, letterhead, tee-shirts, etc.

I think consistentcy and clarity are important for name recognition.
