I have been looking for a mini biscuit joiner for biscuit sizes R1,R2 & R3 and have come up empty. I know Ryobi has one (model DBJ 50). Does anyone know where I can find this tool or has it been discontinued?

I have one, although I would charge a very high price for it. It is one of the great accomplishments of Ryobi. I have some woodwork planned for my retirement house which will benefit from this device. I run it about once a year to make sure it is still working. I think you can find one if you work at it. I'll sell you mine for $10k.
Hey parttime-
I bought a Craftsman from Sears about a year ago. Works well, but I haven't used it a whole lot. Check that out. I've never seen the Ryobi.

I shudder to even mention the name Black & Decker, but they do make one and I have it. I bought it to get me out of a jam one day and well I have to admit that it works very nicely with all the sizes that you mentioned. I bought it at Sears. Good luck!
I thought that the PC could convert to mini biscuts. Not sure but I think I saw somewhere that you could put a smaller cutter in, thought it was the PC.
You are correct, sir! PC 557 does mini biscuits by using a smaller cutter. Both cutters supplied with kit.

But I don't think that they are as small as the Ryobi.
The one Sears sells (or at least the one they sold last year when I last looked) is the Ryobi under the Sears name. Ryobi doesn't sell them at Home Depot any more. You can get the Ryobi one on Ebay, but the price usually costs you more than just walking into Sears and buying a new one. I was considering getting one for some narrow face frames for some cabinets in a situation where my Kreg jig would not work, but that job has been put on hold.

I have never been impressed with any Ryobi product.
I agree with Sphere, buy a 5/32" slot cutter and use different size bearings to make your own slots for the biscuits. Works well.
