Looking for a new garbage disposal suggestions
Hello,
We moved to a new house and it has an old garbage disposal, it is in a bad condition so we are looking to replace it ASAP.
I have not been in the market for a quite a while now, since our last time we bought a garbage disposal (8 years ago), so I do not know what is the best fit, we are a household of 3 persons and we cook on daily basis
Can you please make few suggestions, thank you in advance.

Insinkerator (ISE) 3/4 HP. If you have an empty sink hole install an airstart switch rather than a wall mounted switch.
I've had a few Insinkerators over a 35 year period. I've gotten the 1 hp models. When I replaced the first non-Insinkerator disposal (installed by the builder) the Insinkerator outlet pipe did not line up with the plumbing that was in place. I bought a flexible outlet pipe. Some will say that the flexible pipe is not code compliant and will clog up. I have never had a clogging problem. Just something to consider. The disposal directions should provide the measurements. Also, if you are going to install it yourself, check out a product called Dr Disposal......it will make the installation a 'piece of cake'. One reviewer said that the inventor should be awarded the Nobel Prize.
Costco usually has 1.25HP disposals available for around $99- relatively cheap and relatively powerful. In some models, the power is reflected in the sound level. I've had good luck with the American Standard models, both for myself and clients. I don't recommend it as a standard practice, but I've seen them grind up a ham bone.

Dr. Disposal looks like a good investment.
