You'll need to provide as much info as you can about that issue. There are no covers of FHB that match that description.
As the years progressed are you positive it was a cover and not a back cover or something on the interior pages as in a 'Finishing Touch' article?
And are you absolutely sure it was in a FineHomebuilding issue and not something else?
Cheers

I remember it being the cover and that it was an article about a finished attic or over-garage space. They had gaming tables and African artwork. What I'm interested in is the colors.
I'm hoping that someone with issues onhand can just take a peek through those years and look for this room on the cover. I'm remembering jewel tones...teals...purples...
Try finding issue #64.
I don't have it but the article by Kevin Ireton about making a studio over a garage space rings a bell.
I don't know Ralph, no gaming tables or African artwork were shown there.
No vibrant colors around either.
Kinda like a needle in a haystack.

I'm wondering if a previous poster could be right... was this an oddball copy of Fine Woodworking I had onhand? Investigating further...

Not sure where you live, but if you live in a major city, you can check with your local libraries to see whether they carry either or both magazines. If so, you can then “go fishâ€. Otherwise if you’re REALLY lucky, not only will the library carry the magazines, but someone here might put you “on track†as to what mag it is & its issue #.
