Hi Guys,
Anyone know a good place to buy Thomas Compressors? I can’t get ’em around here so I’m gonna hafta have it shipped here.
I looked at Amazon a couple days ago and they had the one I want. I himhawed a little and finally decided to get it. When I signed on to order it the price had gone up 100 bucks. Yikes. I wonder if the price will come back down?
Anyway, looking for the T2820ST.
Thanks.

The amazon prices do tend to bounce around a bit.
I haven't seen it online for much less than $570-$590. I've been looking for a second one. No complaints with my first, it's 8 or 9 or 10 years old. Still runs like a champ.
Hey Thanks for the replies everyone.Mongo, when I looked on Amazon the other day, they had 'em for 520 bucks. Best deal I've seen. That's when I went back to order it later, the price had jumped to 615.GB, Home Depot doesn't carry them in my neck of the woods. I've been in HD's from Detroit to Saginaw and have never seen any Thomas compressor there.K1c, Grainger has stopped carrying this particular model. They have others but not the one I want.Moogie, I'm gonna look up seven corners and see what hey have. I used to get their catalog, but I didn't buy enough to keep 'em coming. As for E-bay, I think I'd rather buy this particular product new. I'm scared of what someone might have done to theirs. I don't wanna inherit any headaches.BigDaddyJT, Thanks for the links, but neither site had the T2820ST on it.
I think I remember buying a Thomas from Smede-Son in Utica. I used to see them in the better tool stores but never in the big boxes.
I wouldn't get too worried about buying them used. They are workhorses. My first, and only, lasted through many years of abuse by me.
Hey Jim,I've never heard of Smede-Son. I'm not too familiar with Utica. Do they have a showroom I can wander around in and drool over the tools? That sounds like an excuse to go find that new tool shop, whether they have that Thomas compressor or not.
I have seen some at Home Depot
Saw one in Graingers. Single tank, light and around $600.
Seven Corners HArdware in Saint Paul, MN does a good mail-order business. They used to carry them, but I haven't seen a catalogue in a few years, so I couldn't tell you for sure.
I've bought 3 of them on Ebay.
You get out of life what you put into it......minus taxes.

Go on Thomas' website and they have an option to look for dealers. A few of them are online. Here is one with pretty good price but not the one you are looking for.

Here's another online dealer with a wider selection:

2 weeks ago saw a deal at a garage sale, thought, "I got 9 compressors and being just a poor dumb diy, do I really need another compressor?" DW was buying 50 more paperback books plus 40 yards of fabric to make world relief quilts, so maybe relieve self of a few bucks? ......
Thomas 'ultra' dual tank, 2 HP, model T200ST, guy only wanted $60 bucks for it.
OK, told myself go lowball but not so low the guy is offended, offered him $40 and he took it.
... rule of thumb is < 10 cents on the dollar for tools at garage sales, a nickel is better.
"2 weeks ago saw a deal at a garage sale, thought, "I got 9 compressors and being just a poor dumb diy, do I really need another compressor?""The answer is "no"So now I will gladly help you by taking that Thomas compressor off of your hands, and thus save you from any catastrophes that might happen should you reach 10 compressors...Paul
Well, I was gonna say what do you need that many compressors for, You probably should sell it to a guy with only a couple compressors like me, but Paul beat me to it!That's kind of a long drive to pick it up for me anyway...
OK, only 9 again, gave a 3HP Craftsman to the son.
Actually only 8 now, forgot I'd given a little 3/4HP sears to Luka when I thought to take a count yesterday<G>.
re: what do you need that many compressors for
5HP ingersol permanently piped onto the auto shop barn
2, 3, 4, and 5, 1 each 4HP Sears hard wired and plumbed into the regular garage, basement shop, back tire changing shed, and pumphouse.
6; very back (trailers, riding lawnmowers, etc) shed (never know when you need air)
7. The Thomas; BTW, this is the only Thomas I've ever seen at a garage sale
8. no-oil 1 HP for breathing mask supply.

The T200 is really only worth about $10, but I'll be generous and take it off your hands for $15. That way you can make an instant profit of $5.
