I would like to hide a door that swings towards me, into the room I am in. However the hinge barrel and pin will show.
Does anyone know a type/name of hinge I should be looking for? I have been looking online but the “hinge” stores only show photos of each hinge, not the function.
Any help would be appreciated.

Soss hinges are hidden, though not sure if they come large enough for a door. Also, check out Gary Katz's article in June issue of JLC.
thank you, I will check them out, ... what is JLC ?

You could use a cafe hinge. That's the sort that installs on the top and bottom of the door, and allows the door to swing both ways. You could make it swing only one way by installing stop, but you'd have to make the stop on the hinge side either very loose to the door, or leave it out- the pivot of the hinge makes that side of the door swing back a bit.

They come in all sizes. Get the jig to route them out, it's worth it.

This is an excellent link!, thanks very much
and yes, I think I will spend money on the jig, having recently discovered the euphoria that comes with doing something right the first time.
