I’m looking for some new nail bags and don’t know where to look. The ones at the ornge box I didn’t like and the places around here have a very limited selection. I like my old ones but they gave up the ghost.
I’m looking for leather if I can find the right ones. I like to have two pockets on both sides. One big one and one smaller one piggybacked on it. I put on my own little settup in front of the small pouch on both sides and I put my hammer in back.
Can you’all direct me to a web place where I can get a two pocket design like this?

snort.... i wore mine for a year and was always wrong handing things..
i finally switched the right bag with the left bag and everything works now..
i wonder if that's the diff between your set and mine ?
and it only took me a year to figger that out ....eeka neeekaMike Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore
nuhn unh...this left bag is really set up for a lefty...hammer loop in the front...pencil holders in the front...dang, it's more than a treat, but now I've got to break 30 years of right handed bag habits...LOL...maybe you're wearing yours backwards? where's the belt buckle<G> Don't worry, we can fix that later!
How are you lefties different from us righties? I [righty] have pencils, tape and hammer on right...speed square[sorry blue]and nails on left. uh, buckle in front.
I didn't do it....the buck does NOT stop here.
Think your funny don't you, I'm thinking about a right-handed harassment suit,ha,ha,ha<G> Don't worry, we can fix that later!
No, I wasn't trying to be funny, just wondering. About my alledged harassment,well...my disclaimer follows
I didn't do it....the buck does NOT stop here.
The Bucksnort stops here! LOL Just flipping right handed bags doesn't quite give the mirror image I was needing...and with these, there's no hammer banging into my knee...that's real nice! Don't worry, we can fix that later!
on top...i mean...
uh, oh.. ya got me cornered..
i really don't own any bags.. and no tools.. i just play act hereMike Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore
Sheeit, just when I was sold on the Mooney wall...LOL
Don't worry, we can fix that later!
Mike,
I bought the occi set-up like you have 2 years ago ,only in leather. ( I didn't know at the time they came in Hazlett Roofing & Renovation Ltd.'s company color---green)
only real complaint is the tape holder. Invariably when you take the bags off and set em down------the tape falls out. Gotta remember before removal to stow the tape in one of the bigger pouches.
Personaly, I wouldn't mind it if the left bags were a little shorter so they wouldn't drag when sitting on roofs-----but that's my problem not the bags.
I did buy the big suspender rig to go with 'em-----that I regret. Too hot. too heavy, not secure enough-----------and a $10 pair of cheap elastic suspenders works MUCH better.

David,
Before you go with the occi's, take a look at the diamond back bags (http://www.toolbelts.com/). They are a little pricey, but I have heard nothing but great reviews about them. People have said that the occi's are great, but the diamond backs bags are even better.
I dont own a pair yet ( havent got done riveting, glueing, modifying the pair I have now).
Good luck on the hunt.

It looks like the diamonds have less options. I e-mailed them with a description of what I was looking for. There are two bags from oxy I looked at. Here's a couple of pics. I will remove the tool holders from them and put on mine in front of the smaller bags. I don't like alot of pouches. I retool when I change what I'm doing. That way I don't carry around a bunch of dtuff I'm not using.

Here's the other one from oxy.
My e-amil to diamond came back as undeliverable. I think they might have some hardship on their end. Not sure what's going on.
My EX and her mother would fit the bill...
but they're kinda old and broke in so that rules out new...
but they would be new to you...
BTW...
bag balm won't help....

WOW!!! What a Ride!
I have occidental leather bags also. I bought the belt and bags all together. Don't remeber the model number, but it's the comfortable set-up I've seen. It was a little pricey but it was worth it. It has plenty of room and small pockets just right for all your small hand tools that you carry.
I used the Occi leather bags for a long time and had them resown and re-riveted. They were great. I replaced them with the Oxy lites and hated them. The fastener bag was too small to get my hand it when I had gloves on. I bought Diamondbacks and they really the best bags. I love the bags. The owner, Jim, had back surgery and is temporarily paralyzed, so the website says they won't make bags for the next year (from a couple of months ago), but they will take orders. I hope everything goes well for him and his wife. I've spoken to them on the phone and they are really good people.
If I had to replace my bags tomorrow, I would replace them with http://www.bestbelt.com/sets/8595.html using the http://www.bestbelt.com/images/b8064.jpg fastener bag. I would also upgrade the tape holder so it holds a fatmax (30'). I bet if you called them they would put this bag on the strong hold system http://www.bestbelt.com/sets/9550.html
Hope this helps. My framing partner has a CLC system that he has had for 10 years and it is a pretty nice setup that cost him about $100.
Here are a couple that are similar to Diamondback http://www.clccustomleathercraft.com/products/detail001.asp?partNo=51452
Here is CLC's website http://www.clccustomleathercraft.com/index.htm There are really some great products. I hope this helps.
Thanks Tim, Great products. I really keep it light though. The simple two pouches work for me. In order to keep my bag light I don't put alot of stuuf in them. I have a box of hand tools nearby that I go to and switch out at. Also I empty out fasteners when I change tasks. It takes a little more time but keeps the belt light.
If the boss has bad organization skills and switches me from task to task and I have to stop and get tools and fasteners it's his fault. If I can't keep up because my toolbag weighs a ton, it's my fault. So a long time ago I decided to just have two pouches on each side plus my costom tool holders. Here's a pic of them on the bags/pouches that aren't working.

I don't think anyone has thrown this option out there but here's a set that looks good also. I don't personaly own a set but the tape pouch on the left apeals to me. It just seems natural to me even though I'm a righty. http://www.mcroseleathers.com/default.htm
