We’re planning on siding our new home with vertical pine nickel gap siding. I wasn’t expecting this to be a hard thing to source, but I haven’t been able to find this anywhere near me. 

We’re looking for nickel gap out of concern that shiplap might get wobbly if it sees any expansion when installed vertically. I’ve found some shiplap pine near me, but it’s all extremely knotty and doesn’t look suitable for exterior use. 

Can any Mainers point me in the right place to find this? It must be out there. Could be 1×6 or 1×8. We’d be comfortable with hemlock if necessary, but I’m imagining that would be trickier to work with than pine.
