just make one out of Azek.....there, problem solved
I just replaced rotted exterior door jambs but kept the door. I used JenWeld Auralast jambs which are a treated product. If you are replacing the whole door system, you can special order it with treated jambs from most manufacturers. I used Aztek for the kick board and synthetic brick mold for the casings.
A lot of exterior jambs are now available with about the bottom 8" made with plastic, the rest wood.
Any door shop can make you frames from vinyl or fiberglas. I haven't installed an exterior door jamb made of wood in at least 10 years. I use fiberglas doors, vinyl jambs, PVC shims, stainless hinges and stainless hinges to put it all together. Nothing goes wrong wiht them short of a hit by a comet.
