I plan to install an island sink which will require a loop vent. Asking experts at home centers results in vague recollections of how to run this plumbing. I have a photo of a loop vent above the surface of a concrete slab which covers this aspect of the dilemma very well. However, what are the requirements for sizing, slope, venting above/below the slab surface? Sink will have disposal and needs to drain dishwasher as well. I know the top of the loop needs to be higher than the bottom of the sink bowl. But what are the requirements for the venting side of the loop? Does it matter if the vent side is higher or lower than the drain side? How far can I run the vent side of the loop to reach the nearest vent stack? Drawings or book references would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

*The vent loops up as usual in a wall..then heads down and connects into main trunk just behind the drain a few inches. All must enter from and upper side of trunk which it will naturally as all is coming from above. Enter with 45s to wyes.Piece of cake... near the stream,ajGet it approved by your inspector as they all have their own idea of right.
*Here's a picture. Run it by your inspector.
