Am having trouble with the trim ring on some can-lights,in particular, the swiveling eyeball lights in the living room.Asked the brainiack at my local HD(not a Harley) and got the universal solution……caulk.Any hints other than the alignment of my spring arms????

Caulk? No.
Those Halo cans are pretty shoddily made, not that I didn't buy a box of them. Try fastening the springs farther up to tighten them. Or go with different trim.
*J. G. check the obvious-that the housing is clearing the trim. By now you would think someone would come up with a sleeve that would move up and down to the trim ring. Try a fiberglass or foam ring that is non flammableand soft enough to compress easily.
*Had a customer provide some of these HD or Lowes lights with 2 metal clips on the trim ring. Tried bending them out and they would break but wouldnt stay in other wise. Tried velcro and that didnt work. Luckily it was a wood ceiling. I drilled holes in the metal on the trim ring and screwed them to the ceiling. Then i took some white porcelain and coated each screw head to match the trim ring. Its ridiculous what you have to do because people are too cheap to spend money on good stuff.
