It seems my Spec House from Hell thread has been sucked away in the vacuum of the internet – At least in part.
The first screenful of stuff is there. But it was a really LONG thread – You had to hit “View full Message” to see the whole thing.
Somehow the Prospero software cut off the last 2/3 or so of the message. I emailed the SYSOP but they don’t hold out much hope for ever being able to retrieve it.
I was hoping one of you might have thought it was humorous enough to have saved it on your hard drive somewhere. It would take me quite a while to re-create all that stuff from memory. If so, please email it to me and I’ll re-post it somewhere.

What are you going to do? Write a book?
Although that's not such a bad idea, given the skills and talents of some posters here..most notably you, Piffen, 4LORN, and a few others.
No, I'm not writing a book. I posted the thread originally for 3 reasons.
First was that several people asked me to.
Second was that it was funny. (See tag line) I've never heard of so many things going wrong on a house.
And third, we get a lot of folks here who ask if they can make a living building spec houses. I've refered a lot of posters to that thread so they see it isn't always easy or profitable. And I've also referred people to it who were wanting to save money building their own houses.
Thanks for thinking that I actually have some talent. Ohter here may have differing opinions......................(-:This would be really funny if it weren't happening to me.
Why, you, no-talent bum
Don't want you to be lying

Gee Boss,
I sure hope somebody saved that thread. It should have been reread by everyone once a year.
Took for granted it would always be there. Makes me think about saving some others threads.
