I have a client here in California who has requested we duplicate the characteristics of another house design he saw online. This previous design had a standing seam roof and a 1 and 12 pitch. I do not know how they solved this. In the past, I have specified a mechanically seamed roof for any roof that is under 3 and 12 (2 and 12) only to have the contractor request the use of a batten standing seam product (specifically the mini batten line from Metal Sales) with a low slope underlayment.
Could I consider a similar strategy with a 1 and 12 roof here in California? I know the mechanically seamed roof can make for more “wavy” seams than the batten approach but I have used this successfully on homes with pitches as low as 1/4″ and 12″.
Any help on how to address this low slope standing seam roof condition is greatly appreciated. It will be seen from the entrance to the house so it needs to be both functional and attractive.
Thanks for any help in advance!
Mike

Union Corrugating has a SL175 snap lock panel that they spec for 1:12 or more (the standing snap lock is 1 3/4" high). I've used their Advantage Lok 2 and it's pretty quality stuff.
