Hey guys,
I installed a standard dimmer switch on a series of low-voltage halogen undercab lights some time ago. After some time, the lights started going out and it’s not the bulbs. Guy at the electrical place where I bought them said I needed a low-voltage dimmer, but had to know whether the transformer was magnetic or electrical. Now, I can’t tell by anything on the lights or transformer which it is and the place where I bought it hasn’t been any help. Amazingly, I was able to find the installation instructions a year later, but they don’t even say who makes it and are no help on the dimmer question. Anybody got any ideas. Pictures attached of light and transformer.

It is a switching power supply.
AKA know as an "electronic transformer". I say that because there is still a magnetic transformer in there. It is just much smaller because it works at high frequency.
The size is how I can tell that it is not a magnetic transformer.
