A friend of mine is looking to build a 3000 SQFT home which is situated on a lot that provides for a walkout basement. Their plan calls for three bedrooms, bathroom and living room to be placed in the lower level. About a third of the lower level would require siding. The house would be built in central Illinois. The typical building cost per SQFT around here is $95-130/SQFT.
The question is, whats a ball park figure for the cost per square foot for the lower level for this area?
Thanks
Brian

$20K-$40K for the unfinished basement
Add $65-95. No kitchen, no exterior framing and finish.

Around $75 sq.ft. plus special exceptions for burying mechanicals in the cieling joists.
do yourself a favor early on and go with a 9 foot inside foundation wall and longer span girders.
