Makita 10″ SCMS
Any need to lube the drive gears on this unit? It’s sounding a bit rougher than when I bought it (10 years ago), but not terrible.
Thx,
Scott.

The Paslode cordless siding and fencing nailer drives fasteners reliably without the hassle of hoses or compressors.

This is a direct drive saw, no gears to lube. Any wobble to the blade? If so, maybe bearings? Ever change the brushes?
I'm pretty sure mine has gears. The motor is on a 45 degree angle from the axis of the blade. Maybe different years were made differently. IIRC I got mine in 1999.There isn't any wobble, just a bit of mild "knashing" for lack of a better term. It doesn't sound like anything is about to go sideways, but if a bit of lube would help I'd do it.Thanks,Scott.
Yep, you're right, there is a bevel gear in there. Here's a link to an exploded view. http://www.ereplacementparts.com/makita-ls1013-miter-saw-parts-c-97_98_99_100.html
I had the bearings go out in my 8" hitachi scms. They were easy to replace with new bearings from the electric motor store.

I've replaced my gears several times, they will eventually sc ream
so loud it'll blow your ears off, I don't know if adding lube will
help. Ask your friendly mak serviceman.
When you say, "Replaced the gears", did you need to buy an entire armature assembly, or are the gears replaceable separately?BTW, thanks Red for the diagram.Thanks,Scott.
