This guy thru a bunch of research decides to super insulate his two family house. Because no preexisting home has ever been super insulated he is getting all the materials donated (about $100k). The labor cost will be about another $100k split between him and his neighbor.
I strongly belive that our current energy codes could use some upgrading and the majority of the old housing stock is in more need of energy updating than an Edsel. But do these people and agencies really think the average home owner is gong spend a $100k + to save a few grand a year in energy bills.
