OK, the weather’s getting colder and I’m doing more and more cabinet work… therefore I’m going to have to build some kind of collapsible spray booth (something I’ve been neurosing about for a year). My game plan is to build a foldable enclosure that I can set up by my overhead door (and close the door on top of) with a large exhaust fan in it.
My concern is that my shop is heated (poorly) by an overhead NG hot air blower. The shop is well sealed overall. Will I have a problem (other than exhausting all my costly hot air outside) with the heater? Other alternative game plans are welcome…

This can be done...without spending a ton of money. Be careful getting your heat to close to fumes, dust, etc. I spent years spraying in a rental garage with a huge exhaust fan, set under the overhead door...understanding positive pressures and wind directions were critical.
I know.I know this was crazy but money talks. Think air-flow big time and worry about heat later. Try to spray non toxic, non flammable systems if possible.
I would not recomend my method to anyone, but I had to eat. stinky
I hear ya... but I'm more worried about whether there will be problems with my furnace (such as CO poisoning). I don't mind painting things blue, but I don't want to turn it...
If your shop is well sealed or even not, and you use an exhaust fan in your spray booth.....the replaccement air has to come from somewhere and that somewhere is down the combusted air vent of your heater and that equals BAD air in your shop. You really need to supply fresh air input to your shop when you turn on the exhaust fan and at a minimun, shut off the heater while the spray booth fan is on. If your spray booth fan has any huevos at all, you will have negative air pressure in your shop while it is running..I like your approach....now lets see your departure
