I need a fast setting sand mix. I mean really fast. I can get pre-packaged cement mixes from Quikrete and others that set in 20-40 minutes but these all have gravel in the mix.
I can add a liquid accelerator but still cure will take several hours. What’s the magic ingredient in these fast setting concretes? Checked out my two concrete and masonry books and they just mention accelerators but don’t give much info other than it’s okay to add calcium up to 2%. I’m not ordering readymix, I’m making very small batches in a bucket.
If I can’t figure this out, I’m prepared to screen bags of the gravel mix and add my own sand but that seems like work and I’m trying to avoid work.
