Makita has had that offer for awhile now. If you order thru Amazon.com, you even get free shipping and no tax.
I have the 10" model of that saw. It's a beauty and an incredible machine. I really wish I had purchased a 12" though.
i've had mine ion service for over a month now. coupon had to be sent into Makita USA for the impact gun which came with 2-12V NiCads and charger. it arrived within a month. bought the saw at the local yard for six something. It is a fine tool.

I have bought two of those saws. Amazon has had (may still have) some great deals. I paid $630 for mine after a instant $50 Amazon rebate.
Then I talked the guy I work with into getting one. I ordered that from Amazon too, this time I got it for $515 after a $50 instant Father's Day rebate! When you subtract what you'd pay for the free impact driver ($210), it's down to $305. An unbeatable deal and a fantastic saw.
The blade is excellent as well, although my first one came with the 96 tooth carbide everyone raved about in the reviews. The second one came with a 70 tooth carbide. Still nice, but not as nice as the 96 tooth. So I called Amazon, told them the website said it came with the 96 tooth, and they gave me back $50! Now it's a $250 saw!
And although this saw got great reviews about being dead on accurate out of the box, the fence on my first one was out of parallel to itself. When you set the saw to cut a perfect 90 on the left, it would cut about a 1/2 degree out of square using the fence on the right. Again, Amazon fixed it by sending a new fence. Good company. Makita, on the other hand, told me I had to either return the 60 pound saw in order to get a new 1/2 pound fence, or take it to a local service dept and have it out of service for who knows how long. Bad service. But I love the saw. Hope it helps.

I bought this saw 3 months ago. It came with a 60 tooth, which was crap, so I replaced it with a freud blade. I am extremely pleased. One of the woodworking magazines ( forget which) just rated it their "editor's choice". Since I live in Canada, I couldn't get the free drill, but I bought one anyway. It was the Ni-MH battery, though, which is better then the Ni-Cad battery drill that the saw comes with. But it is a very comfy, well balanced drill. I don't see how you could go wrong buying this saw.
