I am back on this flared maple stairway after being AWOL due to other projects. This home is taking forever, and I just adjust my schedule accordingly.
I am fitting the railing now…on both the flared stairs and the back stairway,
Here are some pictures of it being stained and varnished now…except for my railing.

Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

This is the upper balcony with the 3 inch curved curbs I had to make. I am fitting the railing above these now.
The last pictures are the back stairway which is a straight one.

Exelent as always thanks for sharing. Any code issues with no risers like that, I think its an issue in my state? What kind of ballisters are going in?
danno- This stairs will get iron balusters. The no risers are taken care of with the cleat that is attached under the treads. There is a 3 7/8 inch spacing left that wont allow a 4 inch ball under the treads. This passes in my area. The treads are exta thick at 1.75 inches...plus the cleat makes them real stout.

Well thats real slick because it just dosent appear to be that way, evidence of a great design. I was hoping you would say iron balusters, looking forward to seeing them.
