I put the balusters in this stairway the last two days. The treads are all covered in paper and tape yet…so the pictures arent very nice.

You don't have to sacrifice historical elements of a house in the name of energy efficiency.

geez Stan. You keep posting pics like that a lot of good carps are gonna hang up their toolbelt and start looking for something they can be good at.

Stan-
Are you sure you don't want an employee? It would be a shame to not be able to pass on your knowledge to someone! You do wonderful work.

Mark: Hey...come up to my shop..and I will buy lunch. I didnt realize you were in Champaign.

Stan-
Thanks for the offer. I will take you up on the visit to the shop. I work for Habitat for Humanity and we have two houses that are supposed to finish in the next two weeks, so I will be fairly busy until both are done.

Great work, as usual, Stan.
Do you buy the balusters and riser stock pre-primed, or do you do it?
Dave: I get the balusters pre-primed....but the risers are just raw boards.

If anybody ever tells you that you are not a master artiest has to be so blind that they trip over there own feet.
Again many thinks for showing the rest of us how you went about building that master piece.
Dane
I will always be a beginner as I am always learning.
Dane: Thanks so much for the kind words...but I will be the first to say that I am over rated. My work barely deserves getting posted. I say this because I go to the big cities and see some mind boggling displays of material and talent that I just crawl back into my little shop and use what I just saw to motivate me.
I am not a master by no means.
