We installed Cultured Brick as a facing for a zero-clearance fireplace about 10 years ago. Recently, the bricks along the upper horizontal face fell down. I want to re-set the bricks so that they will last. Any thoughts on the type or brand of mastic I can use? The surface is metal (I had scratched the surface originally) and will be subjected to heat. A local brick & stone shop suggested PL400, but I am concerned with the combustibility warning.
Thanks for your prompt thoughts on this. (we have a Christmas Party this weekend, and the fireplace looks awful!!)

Hmmm
Cultured brick on galvinized sheet metal, now there is a challenging task.
I would contact the manufacturer and get his specs rather than posting the question here. They have specific recomendations and specs for their product and back them up. They may have a particular glue or mastic that works on sheet metal.
I can tell you that virtually every manufacturer of cultured stone and brick I have used recommends that the product be installed onto a masonry substrate, like diamond lathe and Type "S" mortar.
Anything else I would add would be purely a guess, and we don't want to guess on this. Call the dealer, Dan.
*Have you considered the metal lath as a substrate? Or cement board? The cement board would probably require taking all the bricks off but you may be able to get by without doing that with the metal lath.Otherwise without a specific recommendation from the mfg I would think that the expansion and contraction from the fireplace coupled with the different thermal expansion rates would make any kind of adhesive questionable.Good Luck
