anyone know where this stuff came from?
can’t locate anything even close yet …
and that’s all it has to be … close.
will infill between 3 windows where old/flat ply failed …
will have to replicate it out of cedar if all else fails …. vinyl would be fine if it matched the profile … or a hardi type product. Don’t need a lot ….
Straight 8″ exposure … wood grain … bead at the bottom ….
Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff-
Good luck!
Last time I needed some alum. siding to do a patch I went to my siding supplier, who told me that very little alum. siding is made anymore. There's just no demand for it.
I cleaned him out of the siding I needed ( he didn't have much anyway ) just in caseI needed a few pieces for another job. He told me he probably wouldn't replace them, anyway.
BTW, I don't recognize that profile. Maybe one of the others here will. You're probably going to have to duplicate it in cedar, like you said.
I calles one place ... so and so's aluminum siding factory outlet ...
said I was on my way to match up some siding ...
"Oh, I doubt I can help ya ..."
I said .. Oh sorry .. did I get the wrong extension ...
"No ... we just changed to vinyl in '74 and never changed the company name ...."
so I drove to my old stand by .... the guy laughed ... they carry only 2 styles ...
said that's all I was gonna find in the whole area. They're the guys everyone else buys from .... think I'll be making something myself.
How the hell does an 8 year old house end up with aluminum ... I think the builder was still working from the stuff he bought in the 70's and warehoused?

Jeff, I have ggod news and bad news. The good news is that I can identify the aluminum siding. It was manufactured by a company called US Aluminum. the bad news is that they are no longer around. I used to work for an insurance restoration company and my job was to track down and match siding so thats how I know. As far as I know, you'll have to go with a Hardie type product because all of the beaded vinyl are only 6" laps. you may try calling an ABC seamless dealer to see if they have a die for their machine? Just a thought.
