Hi,
I am a Canadian Journeyman carpenter and I will be building a couple of houses here in Israel where I live. I have done this three times in the past few years. For these three houses we purchased some materials (siding, insulation, windows and doors, “I” joists) from Harvey Industries International. They no longer have this service and I am having no luck finding a company that would be willing to ship what I need. I wonder if any of you would know of such a supplier, preferrably on the east coast of either Canada or the US. This would be much appreciated as I can’t get all the materials that I need here suitable for a North American style wood framed house.
Here are some photos of what we have done here. Thanks.

What area of Israel is that?
Gonna be there in the next few weeks.
Israel is a beautiful country...been there before. Nice work by the way.
What about Home Depot? I know they ship to the Carribean, and South America...maybe a call to their corporate office might see if they will go to the Middle East?
Good luck.

Central Fairbank Lumber
20 min north of the city of Toronto. Great lumber yard. They also have a mill there and produce the best trim around.
I know they ship in this hemisphere.

How do you deal w the termites in Israel ???? I was under the impression most the houses there were masonary ( I've never been there though,,,,,,,,, just got that talking w a friend from there ).
Best of luck, Harry
Thanks for your replies. I found a place in Quebec (Matco Ravary Co.) that has sent materials here before for a number of houses. If they don't work out for some reason, I'll try some of your suggestions.
I live in the center of the country S.E. of Tel Aviv, and will be building east of here, closer to Jerusalem.
Most of the houses here are made of concrete and cement block. No insulation so they get very hot in the summer, meaning lots of air conditioner use and waste of energy, and expensive to heat in winter. Talking recently to the owner of one of the houses I built, he said that he pays 20-25% of heating bill that it takes to heat one of the concrete houses.
I don't know about termites here. I've heard rumours of them here but have never come across them. A friend who recently built a wood frame house here used a termite shield.
Thanks again for your replies.

Israel must be a likely place for an ICF contractor to start up. Maybe you could find a Canadian manufacturer who will see the potential and invest in a manufacturing plant there, with you as a principal. http://www.arxxbuild.com is one of the largest and best managed companies.
