   I haven't found any yet. Instead I reach for a dremel with a carbide cutting disc.

   That probably works fine in some cases, but when you need to reach an inch under a board to cut the screw then the tiny Dremel blade won't hack it.

   Does anyone make decent blandes that aren't a fortune to buy regardless of what they cut?

   good question..

   Sure does seem like these little blades are about the biggest tooling rip off I'm subjected to.

   I've not found the prices to be outrageous, considering the way the unit is typically used.  (Though I will admith they ain't cheap, as a rule.)  If you were cutting lumber with it it would be a different matter, but the MM is typically used in situations where you spend far more time figuring out what to do than cutting.

   Yes, and often it is the only tool that will get the job done....when this is the case blade cost is not a concern.

   a former member here would cut a pc of hacksaw blade and braze it to the cut off end of a multimaster blade.

   Pop rivets would work.

   Pop rivets would work if you can't braze it. You could drill them out and replace the hacksaw blade without having to rebuild the whole thing.

   I don't see how you could cut a slot with a pop-riveted blade.
