I’m remodling a basement . The homeowner is going to use part of it as pinball arcade, he’s got 6 sweet one’s to put down there. Part of the the lighting plan is to put mini track, low profile, low voltage xenon lights in two 16′ valances projecting 4-6″ from the wall.
I was going to make them out of painted wood, but while checking out the plumbing in a local restaraunt, I noticed some nice, sleek brushed aluminum valances. I know I should have been looking down, but I was careful<G>
Can’t find out where they got these things, can anyone put me on the right track?
Thanks,
pinBall Billy

Perhaps a sheet metal shop. Get excatly what you want. You can have them in painted metal too. More than likely those that you saw came from a frabicator.
Dang if that ain't a novel thought, probably get it full length, too. I always think so carpenterley<G> EliphIno!

Believe it or not these are a drywall accessory.
Don't see any that fit this application, but it's definitly going in my fie. I don't get it, sheetrockers can get all this cool stuff, but they still do the louseyst job, yer not a rocker, are ya<G> EliphIno!
Naw, I save the rockin' for the guys with backs stronger than mine. I hang a sheet every now and then, but only if I have to. IMHO though, it's ok to do a lousy rock job if you got a good taper.
Might I interject? The best is to have both the hangers and the finisher. No one's perfect. But these guys are damn close.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

and I'll bet it's dry up there, and you don't have chiggers<G> EliphIno!
This summer has seen large rain. The temps, cept for the July 4th wknd, nice (thanks to those up north for turning the breeze our way). Chiggers? Some think those bug bites while sleeping aren't spiders. Beats me. They're closing a couple giant egg farms, trying to site some massive pig/cattle farms. You know something about that I'm sure.
Good luck on those lite boxes, find a good fab man. You coming up this way for a visit?

In once saw guttering used as a light cove in a resturant, looked really good.
Took me quite a while before i figured out it was guttering.the profile in your drawing looks prety close to a gutter profile.
