My next project (got started this afternoon) is restoring these two pieces off of a church. All the parts are there for the gable piece. It got dropped and bent up the crown mould and the bottom is badly rusted. The spire also got dropped and damaged the top, but the leaf work around the center is mostly missing and the base is rusted.

They were looking at about $25K for a replacement piece. I brought this repair in for a little less than $2K.

Izzant that the coolest!
Damm Gman, you oughtta go into bizness! So cool how ya pulled that together from the ashes of what used to be there, you have a very good knack for just figguring it out, and woking with the wisps of shadow, a true artist!

Trust in God, but row away from the rocks.
Beautiful work!!
I love doing stuff like that. Not the metal work, but taking something that's barely holding together, and restore it to near-original condition.
I'd almost do that kind of thing for no pay, just for the satisfaction of it. Fortunately, my customers don't know that. <G>
It's these type of jobs that give me the most satisfaction.
Nice work.
Thanks guys.http://grantlogan.net/

I wouldn't know where to start, never mind how to finish.
The lead idea was a good one. What did you use for a (female) mold?
I love to see that quality of work.

I carved out a negative in a block of wood. To fix the spire, I jammed a piece of pvc pipe up the inside of the sharp end and kept adding unions and size increasers to match the flare. I then riveted the mangled pieces to the pvc to get them back close to their original form.http://grantlogan.net/
