I’m moving an old barn to my property this spring. I want to use corrugated metal as the roofing material. The interior space will be insulated and sheetrocked. My question concerns how best to vent this roof. I’m thinking self-adhesive rubber membrane over the 3/4″ ply, then the corrugated. Will the space under the ridges be enough or should the venting be between the insulation and the plywood? Any suggestions?
Thanks, Terry protheroe

The venting needs to be in the space between the insulation and sheeting otherwise the bottom side of the sheeting will sweat from condensation. The idea is to keep air moving under the sheeting in order to remove moisture from this space. You need venting at the eaves, free flow space under the sheeting and venting at the ridge.
