There is low sloped, ribbed metal roofing over a 1 inch fiberglass insulation with a vinyl backing in a steel building used as a public store.
The vinyl backing on the ceiling insulation has been painted flat back sometime in the past, looking bad with the taped seams shrinking and showing color, and various rips and marrs from the years.
Got to wondering about cleaning up the look by putting another layer of insulation over the fiberglass stuff. A two layered air bubble wrap about a quarter inch in thick, reflective foil on one side and a white plastic liner on the other which would be revealed to the interior.
My only concern would be possible problems resulting from the double vapor barrier of the new wrap and the old vinyl backing of the fiberglass insulation.
The building is located in the southwest flatlands. Short easy winters and killer summers.
Was hoping for some pointers on the possible problems. Thanks
