I’m considering installing midspan blocking/bridging during a remodel. I have sistered 2×6 floor joists (second story).
So I cannot easily nail the blocking through the joists during install due to the thickness of the sistered joists.
Is the preferred method to simply toe-nail both sides of the blocking to the joist faces? Or is it better to use something like a strongtie A35 angle plate?

Toe nailing is fine, but the big question is why are the joists sistered at midspan???
Thanks....Joists are sistered full length end to end not just midspan.
Toe nailing is fine.
Toe nailing will work well.
Use (2) SDWC Screws from Simpson sized for 'toenailing' or more standard wood screws from the other side. Screws are less likely to add squeaks.
This is also recommended fix when LUS (double shear) hangers are found with short nails.
Maybe I’m slightly off after an afternoon round...
But,
What’s this got to do with the blocking as mentioned?
These screws can be used vs nailing the blocking in place. I added the rest as info for where the idea comes from...tmi...maybe my re-edit helps?
Serious overkill.
Yes, and some of us get client that can't stand squeaks.
Thanks all for the feedback...toenailing it will be
