There is no "legal" amount that they are required to pay.
Around here, .20 mile is average. Some pay more, some pay less. Some don't pay at all.

*GregI don't know what you mean by "legal". But the IRS standard milage deduction for 2001 is 34.5 cents/mile. If you use that and get a milage report from the employee then life is a lot easier for you and the employee.
